(Note: I apologize for spelling mistakes later, my tablet doesn't seem to let me edit the bottom line.)
I am both Agren Tar and Anciet Bal, our minds are one now. After facing the horrors that I have faced, you learn to live with your best friend's spirit existing on another plane of existence but still being in your mind as if it were normal. Once you see someone's head fall off and keep speaking, you kind of lose your mind. We battle against basically every threat anymore, as long as it has spiritual origin. We lost the ideals that the dark spirit had to be in full possession of their mind for us to combat it, it's easier if we try to get the spirit out rather than slicing open the victims heart while they still try to kill you with endless endurance. Yeah, it's not the best life, but it has its benefits as well. Being on the good side of the king is a good place to be. The job's fun too. Expressing yourself through fire magic is always fun, as it requires you to have passion. Not many fight spirits, but those of us that do are pretty trustworthy. Yet, we are the only team that are only two minds. Many have four or five in their heads, we don't know how they stand it. We annoy one another sometimes with the two of us, we can't even think of having more people's thoughts in our mind.
Well enough talk about that, let's get to the present. We were facing off against a man who gave control of his body to a dark spirit, knowing that we were sent after him. The moment that happened, the man started destroying a small village on the western coast of the kingdom. When we got there, he was firing blasts of darkness at a group of defenseless townspeople. At that moment, we ran towards the fiend. Through Anciet's vision in the spirit realm, we recognized the spirit. We had banished him before, and he was like a plague in the kingdom. Being a former merchant, the man was very persuasive. He took control of hosts easily by playing on fear and misunderstanding. Our body became encased in flame as we neared the man, so hot the ground beneath our feet began to melt. As we hit the man to change his target, he was charred by our fist. Fire blasted from our fist in a fan, setting the man's side ablaze. He then turned around, his eyes nothing but dark orbs where the eyes used to be. Launching a torrent of dark energy at us, we were flung aside like someone brushing a fly from their arm. As we stood up, we saw him standing in front of us, his hands were engulfed in dark mist. "Well, well, well, what do we have here? What are you going to do, kill me? Sorry boy, but this world has no place for newcomers." He said, launching a spear of dark energy straight at our heart. We luckily dodged it in time, firing a volley of flaming bolts to return the favor. "Well, good thing I have experience fighting you, dingus." We said, our voices speaking in both the mortal and spirit worlds.
He stood no chance against the hail of bolts, even with his powers. As he created a magical barrier, the bolts burned straight through it, striking down the man. The last bolt hit him straight in the heart, sending the spirit back into oblivion. Yet, it's not like that display was easy for us. Being only one spirit and a host, we went through a lot of our magic reserves to make fire that hot and not burn ourselves. My whole body hurt from being tossed around like a ragdoll as well. We were prodigies, at least for our trade. Most people in our trade are in their thirties, and have lots of spirits working with them. With multiple elements, or only one very powerful element. Though being powerful, we were ntohing compared to them.
